2. General principles

We process personal data exclusively within the framework of applicable data protection law. This website is deliberately data-minimising: it embeds no analytics or tracking services, no advertising networks, no social media plugins and no external font or content delivery services that transmit data to third parties. No cookies are set.

3. Accessing the website — server log files

When you access this website, the hosting provider automatically records information transmitted by your browser. This comprises:

Purpose: ensuring an uninterrupted connection, guaranteeing system security and stability, and defending against attacks.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and functional operation of the website).
Retention: this data is not merged with other data sources and is deleted automatically after a short period.

4. Hosting

This website is hosted by:

Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA

The hosting provider processes the log file data described above on our behalf. This is governed by a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

Note on third-country transfers: Cloudflare, Inc. is established in the United States. Transfers take place on the basis of the EU Standard Contractual Clauses pursuant to Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR. Static content is served from Cloudflare's European edge locations wherever possible.

5. Contact by email

If you contact us by email, we process the data you transmit (your email address, your name and the content of your message) in order to handle your enquiry.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to the initiation or performance of a contract; otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries).
Retention: we delete your enquiry once it has been conclusively dealt with, provided no statutory retention obligations apply. Commercial correspondence is subject to retention periods of six and ten years respectively under German commercial and tax law (§ 257 HGB, § 147 AO).

Our mailbox is operated via Google Workspace. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place. This statement is to be confirmed or amended.

6. Recipients of data

Your data is disclosed to third parties only where this is necessary for the performance of a contract, where you have consented, where we are legally obliged to do so, or where a processing relationship exists (in particular hosting and email service providers, see sections 4 and 5). Data is never sold.

7. Your rights as a data subject

You have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

Right to object under Art. 21 GDPR

Where we process data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to such processing. We will then no longer process the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority regarding the processing of your personal data. The competent authority for us is:

Der Hamburgische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit

8. Necessity of provision

The provision of personal data is neither required by statute nor by contract. Without a contact address, however, we are unable to respond to your enquiry.

9. Automated decision-making

No automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.

10. Changes to this privacy policy

We will amend this privacy policy where changes to the procedures we employ or to the legal situation make this necessary. The version available on this page applies in each case.
